So I sent CB a text on my way home from class today, “Do we need anything from the little GB?” His answer to my question was to call me on my cell phone from home, where he decided to work from today (lucky bastard), and tell me that he was sending me “on a mission.” Ooh, tres Mission Impossible!
My mission, which I chose to accept, was to go to the little GB and get “groceries we could take with us, mostly for breakfast” and also to spend today and tomorrow making sure all my homework was done because we wouldn’t get back until later on Sunday.
“Ok…when I get home will you tell me what’s going on?”
“Maaaaaybe.”
And he still hasn’t told me where we’re going this weekend. I bought us little drinkable yogurts, some mini babybel cheeses, a few clementines and all-bran bars. Healthy but portable. I packed us a light dinner, per CB’s request, and that is all I know. He won’t tell me much of anything, all I know is we’re leaving tomorrow evening somewhere between 4 and 7 to parts unknown (though CB made a mystery phone call after dinner and I swear I heard him say “Ardennen” which would be the Ardennes in Wallonia (the scenic but somewhat more impoverished southern part of Belgium where they speak French and refuse/”lack the mental capacity”(if you believe the Belgian Prime Minister-in waiting) to speak Dutch). I think I caught him in his surprise, but he remains cryptic, so I could be wrong.
Point is you won’t be seeing or hearing from me much, if at all from now until Sunday, but rest assured, I’m sure I’ll have plenty to talk about upon my return.
