Sleepy Sunday
We had supper over at CB’s friends’ house last night. I think I’m actually getting used to the whole “dinner in Europe takes 5 hours” thing. We had some little starter bits (yeah I don’t feel like looking up the spelling for h’ors devours or however the hell it’s spelled) and some drinks and eventually sat down to eat. Then we had coffee (good coffee! I had 3 cups and that never happens anymore so you know it was good coffee) and talked for a bit before biking home.
I’m getting a little better as far as that goes I think. I have to though, as my monthly bus pass runs out on the 26th and after that I told CB I’d be willing to take the bike to class. And really, I mean it. Right now the mornings are still dark and biking in traffic in the morning twilight makes me nervous so I’m hoping by the end of the month the mornings will be lighter when I leave the house. Plus, the increased excercise of riding a bike a mile or two a day really ought to help me get into better shape. If you look over to the right you’ll see that I decided to follow CamiKaos‘ Fit February idea, which is simply pledging to excercise three times a week for the month of February. Well, riding the bike was supposed to be an every day thing from the first day I got here and I have artfully avoided doing it as much as possible, but now, well, now I’ll do it three times a week. It’ll be a good way to get ready for the end of this month.
Anyway, we didn’t turn in until fairly late last night but I was awake around 8 so I decided it would be a good time to get up and have a little morning quiet time for myself. Later today CB plans on cleaning the final buckets of rubble out of the soon-to-be bathroom which means I get the fun job of cleaning the upstairs floors. Meh. Despite the miraculous domestification I’ve gone through since I moved in with CB (washing dishes, washing, drying and then folding the laundry in a timely manner, enforcing that we eat vegetables, buying healthy foods with coupons, tidying up every day when I get home from class) I still quail at the thought of sweeping and mopping the floor. So I figured now would be the best time to do a little blogging and playing on the computer.
I’ve got Kate Nash playing on Winamp, a banana in my tummy, and a new character for my sketch page. I hope you all have some quiet time today too.
Hugs and nirvana all around!
