Haiku Friday – Belgian Labor

CB’s big sister
Is having her second child
Right now as I type.

Not a c-section
Seven minute contractions
Off to the clinic

Cabanadad called
The nurses sent her back home
Contractions must be

Closer together.
“They have to be four minutes
apart,” said the nurse.

So we’re still waiting
To hear about the baby.
This sort of thing is

What makes me want to
Give birth at home in a tub
When I have my kids.

I’ve always wanted to give birth at home, but–alas–I always popped the kids out at the hospital. LOL Best wishes to your family!

I will look forward to reading your haiku about bathtub birthing at home. The people I know who gave birth at home raved about it (all but one, actually).

What a cool haiku! Can’t wait to hear about baby! ;-)

    How exciting!

I have birthed both ways (home and hospital). I had excellent help both places, but the stress level went way down for me, being in my own home, with a knowledgeable midwife there to help me even before the very moment the baby was ready to be born.

I’m inclined to agree with you. Hope is a safe and relatively easy delivery!

i kind of wanted to do the tub thing, but ultimately, since i had problems with queen of hearts (she came 10.5 weeks early) they said “you will be in a hospital! in a bed!”
    i said okay.

hope everything goes really well. :)

and i made jo and her family eggs this morning. (i managed not to poison them.)

I enjoyed your Haiku and hope all went well with the birth of CB’s big sister’s 2nd child. Your Weekly Winners are all wonderful photos. Thanks for visiting my Haiku Friday/Sky Watch post at Sacred Ruminations last Friday. I’m playing ‘catch up’ today because the weekend got away from me. Hope you’re having a lovely day.
    Hugs and blessings,

When we have kids some day, my husband and I want to do a water birth. He’d prefer it at home, but I’m okay with a hospital, depending on where we live at that time. Do they do water births in Belgium?
