Skinpee

I’m dedicating this quickie post to Andi, since she seemed to enjoy this same observation I made on Twitter enough to adopt the word “skinpee.”

August has been hot in Belgium. Very hot. Needless to say, by the time I bike the 3ish km (1.8 miles) to class in the morning I’m soaked with perspiration. I was starting to get dizzy and have headaches so I’m trying to drink 2 litres of water every day. This has also resulted (predictably) in an increase of bladder output.

So not only am I perpetually damp from my commute to and from class, I’m also running up and down the stairs to pee all day. And that running the stairs with no air conditioning leads to?

You guessed it.

More sweat.

And since sweat and pee are basically the same chemical composition (save for the nitrogen in pee and the lactate in sweat), that pretty much means that I have become, for all intents and purposes, a giant walking tower of urine. Cause you know, sweat is pretty much the equivalent of your skin taking a piss.

Skinpee.

And my bathroom vocabulary just grew again.

My thanks to you for skinpee.

Is your hot in any way similar to my hot in south Alabama? What I mean to ask is if you are a heat sissy or if it’s really hot?

Does that mean we can stick diapers or sanitary napkins to our bodies to soak it up? No? Darn.

I am rarely speechless. Or pee-less. But I’m often sweat-less. NO matter how hard I work at exercise, I don’t sweat much. And now I am so so glad.
