Ivy

Have you read about Ivy yet? Well if not, let me summarize it for you.
Ivy is a two year old little girl with a rare immunodefficiency condition. Long story short, the condition causes truly awful cycles of blistering, sloughing and reblistering on Ivy’s skin. You can read more about the specifics here.
There is a treatment for Ivy’s condition called IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) and it is a transfusion of immune cells that would bolster Ivy’s own immune system and help her fight infections in a normal way. It would give her a chance at a normal life and it would take away much of her pain.
Unfortunately the Australian National Blood Authority have denied the request for treatment.
There is currently a petition that, if signed, may help Ivy get the treatment that she needs. It doesn’t take any time and nothing is required of you besides your name. This is a chance to help a child to live a better, more comfortable, healthy life and it doesn’t take much besides clicking right here.
Credit goes to Veronica for starting what has become quite a movement amongst many of the blogging communities that I read.
You can read more about Ivy and her other siblings here at her mum’s blog (which is also where the picture comes from).

Hey! I just went over there a while ago based on seeing it on your mom’s blog. I’m going to post about it in a few days. I’ve already signed the petition.
Petition signed and would give my own blood if I could…money too!
Thank you. Really. Thank you so much. I am so amazed.
You are so lovely. Thankyou.
What a beautiful little girl! I hope she gets the treatment she needs.
Petition is signed!
I read about Ivy on my sister’s blog but I didn’t understand, now I do!
If a child can be helped it should be helped, damnit!
Nice one, well done.
