Indefinite Suspension

I got fired.
Apparently I can’t clean for shit and no one wanted me to come back.

I feel as low as anyone can possibly feel.
Okay, no that’s a lie, but I’m feeling very very low.

I think time will be the best consolation. Also, lately it seems not too many people are taking an interest in my blog. I appreciate and cherish those of you who do read and comment and I will be reading all the blogs that I usually do.

But I think it’s time for a hiatus from Lilac Colored Glasses. It probably won’t be for very long, but right now, when I feel like everything I do is a failure, it hurts too much to feel like I’m failing at blogging too.

I’ll be reading you all and hopefully I’ll be blogging again soon.

Awwww, I’m sorry to hear that? I know it’s been a while since I commented, but that does not mean I don’t love you? Hugs dear. I know, it’s hard sometimes, no?

have you looked in the possibility of helping in bakeries and butcheries etc? I think they always need people, especially in the weekends!

About the blogging, why would you all of a sudden suck at it . Your blogging didn’t change, on the contrary I felt a quite positive vibe lately! There’s just a huge group of English speaking bloggers that seem to be in a hiatus of blogging and reading. I also miss a bunch of my regular readers for months now. Not fun at all. I don’t know what’s going on but it seems contageous that everybody is too busy at the same time. It’s not your blog though!

Hang in there and mail if you need to talk, ok???!!!

Aw, that really sucks. I hope you find something else soon and that you don’t stay away from blogging for too long.

I’m sorry you’re in a bad place. Hopefully a little respite will help you refind yourself.

Oh nooooo! I can understand you’re a bit in the dumps for being sacked. Okay, and maybe you make a lousy cleaning wife! I would be too! Because your interests lie elsewhere ofcourse! And they were so right when they thought your were overqualified for the job, cause you are!
No, don’t stop blogging now! Your blog is so much fun to read and your writing is soooooo good!
    Chin up my dear!

I’m sorry….but use this time to launch your literary career!

  8. May 18th, 2009 at 22:35 | #8

Well, shoot. Just when I’m back from my hiatus.

Here are some things you are not a failure at:

    love
    guts (moving to another country)
    being loved
    animals
folks who find you fascinating (even if they take two months off from blogging and reading blogs because they can’t handle multitasking)

Your spirit shines through here. Screw the stupid housecleaning.

Huge hugs. Wish we could go get a lambic together.

Don’t leave! Lots of people read blogs but never comment! I’ve had lots of people say they read my blog but NO ONE eve comments on it. You get about 10 times the comments that I get!

P.S. Being fired from a cleaning job can only say good things about you. ; )

I’m so sorry you’re having a rough time. You are a wonderful person and I’m guessing you’ll find a job that is even better for you soon. (Sorry… I’m kind of an optimist and I firmly believe that when a door is closed, a window is opened.)

Hey, I’m really sorry, about the computer too. I hope you find something you love. My first two years in Belgium were really a struggle but it’s improving these days.

If you’re ever in Antwerp, sing out and we could meet for a coffee or lunch?

P.S. Did you think about approaching NGOs for work? I work for one in Brussels and love it, got it through doing a free photography gig for them but I would be happy to give you any info I have on that scene or ask around for you. Not that I know much but it’s a starting point maybe.

I know exactly how you feel. Exactly and I think that anyone who writes a blog feels the same way every now and then. Please don’t stop writing. I love reading about your life over yonder. It’s just so interesting to see the culture clashes and I learn so much.

As far as not being able to clean houses, it’s not something you wanted to do anyway. I know it never feels good to be rejected but you just have to put it in perspective if you can
