Puppy…erm…Kitty Love (with pictures!)
Both CB’s nice computer and my new computer are back, in place and functioning properly! And this? This is the face of a happy Specs:
Yaaaay! Pictures! I can post pictures again!!! Sadly I haven’t taken many lately but now I’ll have to go find the camera cause I have my very own photo capabilities on this computer.
Now, on to the title of this post.
Rex. has. a. girlfriend.
No, seriously, he has a little sweetheart, none other than Felix, Rex’s neighborhood female doppelganger.
Now, when I named Felix (in my head, like I do) I had only seen her once or twice from far away and had actually mistaken her for Rex on those occasions. Seriously, their markings are nearly identical, save for Rex’s little ‘stache. Once I saw Felix up close and personal (she’s a ruthless pigeon hunter) I realized that she was much smaller and built much more like Luna. I suppose I could rename her Felicia or something, but she’s not. She’s Felix and that’s all there is to it.
Anyway, the first time I noticed this budding romance was probably over a month ago. I was coming down the stairs and I could see into the bathroom and I had to do a double take. Rex was laying on the bathroom windowsill but it looked like he was lying next to a mirror. On the other side, resting right up next to him in the exact same direction/position, was Felix. I have no idea how long they stayed that way, but they were both pretty comfortable.
The next time Rex and I were in the kitchen and Felix hopped down into the back garden. Rex saw her through what’s left of our back door and went nuts waving his tail and climbing onto the particle board to try to see her better while she perched one of the plastic chairs outside and gazed in at him.
Last week I came home from grocery shopping (I can ride my bike again now so I’ve been trying to do that several days a week) and there was Felix, looking into our front window while Rex pawed madly from the inside of the glass. Luna was next to him on the inside but really showed no interest in the strange cat. She was busy looking at the odd behavior of her big brother. A few nights ago CB saw Rex pawing the glass of the bathroom window again, staring at Felix who was sitting a couple rooftops away. Apparently Luna tried to jump up next to him and he sort of thumped her on the head and pushed her away.
Poor Luna. She’s become a lot more independant since her stay with the Cabanaparents during our trip to Pittsburgh but she still tags along with Rex a lot of the time and she doesn’t really seem to grasp the fact that Rex is smitten with a serious case of Kitty Love.

@Jovanka
Heh, Felix has an owner that lives 4 or 5 doors down but she’s an outdoor cat. I wish they’d put in a cat door for her cause sometimes I see her sitting outside her door crying to be let in.
great, even the cat has a boyfriend now. I really am the only single thing/person around
@jessica bern
Awww, no, don’t worry. Luna is totally single and is showing no interest in anyone at all. She remains fully enamored with her human parents and her big brother.
