Um, I don't know about the westvlaams...but even I could hear how different the dialect was from what you speak..like another language! And, I do wonder what the lyrics were with all the background action!

I had never heard of either of them before (oops!) and I like the Spinvis song a lot. Makes me hungry for more, I love the lyrics. The second one however... ewww! I don't think his westvlaams is representative for ... westvlaams! If you want to hear Westvlaams, try Willem Vermandere. He does it for me, and after all, I am westvlaams by origin!

Oh but you've posted Arno before and Gabriel Rios and ...no? Ok true, they didn't sing in Dutch. It's a simple fact that a lot of the Dutch lyrics represent cheesy music though as I had mentioned in my post about "Beleuvenissen Vlaams" 2 weeks ago as well.

and don't worry about not understanding Filip Kowlier well...that counts for most of us indeed :p. But I do love the Westvlaams dialects nevertheless. It's so cute.

do you like Axelle Red? And Bart Peeters? and (Flemish) folk groups such as Laïs and Urban Trad? Yevgueni is becoming more popular and Eva De Roovere has some good stuff as well.
