Yes, I’m Playing With Words

“For this prompt, write an ekphrastic poem…”

My prompt is Pocahontas by Annie Leibovitz.

Dearest

We prance among the falling leaves,
A shower of color rains down around us
And the autumn sedge tickles our ankles.

The hulk in the distance means nothing
As we leave so much distance behind us
I with my hooves and she with her feet.

Both of us one with the earth.

I notice you play with words…had to look-up quite a few.

Nicely done, evoking lots of images
