It’s Mourinho Give Valencia an Unusual Schedule
Jose Mourinho will carefully play and choose a match for Antonio Valencia in the 2017-2018 season. All that aims to get his right back got the best at Manchester United.
The 32-year-old has been a top choice since last season and Mourinho is determined to keep him out of injury. Valencia became the seven-time starter of 11 United matches this season, but the Portuguese coach worried he was too tired.
Last season the former Wigan Athletic player was featured in four of the last 10 Red Devils matches as he was exhausted from a long season. And now Mourinho devised a schedule for him with medical coaching to make sure he remained at peak performance because they desperately needed him.
Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian replaced Valencia’s role when he missed the season but Mourinho still worries about his exhaustion – especially as it needs to strengthen Ecuador’s national team. They will host Argentina and Chile at the international break this time, after playing in Quito on Tuesday. He will pass a 9,000 km journey to return to Manchester United ahead of Saturday’s game against Liverpool.
Darmian and Young are not pure right-backs, they prefer to play on the left, so United can be said to have only Valencia for full-back right. This season he has contributed one goal in the Premier League, but has not appeared even in the Champions League. (Source: metro.co.uk)
